Key dates for the transition
Prepare for the transition by familiarizing yourself with some of the key transition dates, so you know what’s happening and when.
Health Savings Accounts

Week of July 1, 2024 | Clients are notified of the transition. |
September 1, 2024 | Changes and updates in the Further client portal disabled. |
Week of September 23, 2024 | Clients receive HealthEquity portal credentials. |
Week of October 7, 2024 | Members are notified of the transition. |
November 15, 2024 | Final day for client to enroll members on the Further portal. |
Week of November 25, 2024 | Clients can begin submitting enrollments on the HealthEquity portal. |
Week of December 2, 2024 | HealthEquity begins mailing Card Packages. Packages include first time login instructions to the HealthEquity portal. For eligible members, packages also include new HealthEquity Visa® Card* for the new plan year. Members can make post-tax contributions on the HealthEquity portal. Members should consider contributing to their HealthEquity HSA prior to the blackout date if they need access to funds during the transitioning blackout period described below. |
December 22, 2024 | Final day for clients to process HSA contributions on the Further portal. Final day for members to make investment changes from Further HSA investment accounts through the Further portal. Final day for members to use their Further debit card or request distributions from HSAs through the Further portal. |
December 23, 2024 | HSA member blackout period starts. |
January 1, 2025 | Member account balances are transferred to the HealthEquity portal. For members with investments, investment holdings are transferred to the HealthEquity portal. Member HSA blackout period ends. Funds and investments are now available on the HealthEquity portal. |
January 7, 2025 | Member's transaction history loads in HealthEquity portal. |
*This card is issued by The Bancorp Bank, N.A., pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Your card can be used everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted for qualified expenses. This card cannot be used at ATMs and you cannot get cash back, and cannot be used at gas stations, restaurants, or other establishments not health related. Starts October 1, 2024. Must be completed by November 18, 2024. | Clients can submit their plan renewals on HealthEquity portal and return Claims Funding Form. |
Week of October 7, 2024 | Members notified of the transition. |
Starts November 16, 2024. Submit by December 1, 2024 to ensure members receive cards by January 1, 2025. | Clients can begin submitting new plan year enrollments. Must complete plan year renewal for enrollments to be processed. |
7 to 10 business days after enrollments are processed in the HealthEquity system | HealthEquity begins mailing Card Packages. Packages include first time login instructions to the HealthEquity portal. For eligible members, packages also include new HealthEquity Visa® Card* for the new plan year. |
December 31, 2024 or through Grace Period if applicable | Last day to use Further debit card. |
January 1, 2025 | Transition complete. Clients and members are now live on the HealthEquity portal. |
Through end of Runout | Members submit prior plan year claims on Further portal. |
Approximately 45 days post Runout | If client plan has Rollover and/or HRA spenddown, applicable balances will be available on the HealthEquity portal. |
